Prize for innovative research

Kaj BlennowSwedish Brain Power researcher Kaj Blennow, professor at the Sahlgrenska Academy in Gothenburg, has been awarded the Söderberg Prize in Medicine in 2016 for his “outstanding innovative research” about Alzheimer’s disease.


“It is very gratifying that this type of clinically related biochemical research gets attention. There are currently several new promising drugs that are in the final phase of clinical trials, and the day they hopefully are available for patients, there will be a huge need to able to diagnose Alzheimer’s early in the course of the disease,” says Kaj Blennow in a statement.
The prize is SEK one million.
